Sketchbook 5
Girl Chatting While Seated on Recliner. 6" x 8", Watercolor on Cold-Pressed Board, July 24, 2009. Here's a new take on an old session. I took photos of the same model in the artworks below while we were having a sketching session a couple of years ago. I'm seriously studying watercolor techniques right now and this pose of her happily chatting with me has a nice contrast to it, with the light falling straight down from above her face. Perfect for a quick watercolor sketch.
Model in a Feathered Hat. 10" x 15", Mixed Media (color pencils/watercolor) on Bristol Board. Loved the cheek bones on her... This artwork was started 5 years ago when I saw this girl at a fashion show. Didn't know her then. Finished it only recently after we became friends. She later modeled in one of my film commercials.

Smiling Girl. Same girl but without the hat and feathers on her head. Done in pencil on vellum, she's one of those people that are so easy to draw when they're smiling.
Model Walking. 16" x 20", Mixed Media (oil color and oil pastel) on Canvas. Still the same girl but I never got to add the feathers on her hat. Awesome walk. Best-looking model I've ever had. This is from the fashion show where I first saw her.
